A Canadian woman describes her encounter with American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein & his alleged madam and British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell 36 years after the encounter.
PART I of II
It was the spring of 1984 and Lisa (not her real name) remembers waving goodbye to her friends outside the bus as they departed from their high school.
It was a normal five-hour bus journey to Canada’s second largest city by population.
Lisa remembers that upon arriving in Montreal, she and three other girls shared a hotel room. She remembers that the room assignment was awkward for her, since the other three girls were a year older and closer as friends.
Montreal is a popular destination for students in general as it is the centre for French-language culture in Canada. Lisa remembers a full three-day itinerary visiting city landmarks, basilicas and sporting venues.
With any school field trip, teachers and even parent chaperones are always close by but Lisa does recall the one morning that students had some free time in which she broke away from the group to stroll around the streets nearby her hotel.
A smoker at the time and somewhat of a loner, Lisa wanted some time away from the watchful eyes of her chaperones to sneak in a couple of smokes as smoking was a big no-no at her catholic high school.
Lisa found herself walking by an outdoor cafe when a women asked her to come and join her and her husband. The women, dressed in a low-cut black dress with thick, long black hair spoke with an accent and reassured Lisa that it is okay to join them as they are just taking a break from their business trip.
Hesitantly, she did join them and what she observed and what was discussed, Lisa will never forget even 36 years after.
Before going into the details of Lisa’s encounter let’s discuss Lisa: She was born into a strict European family where dating boys was not allowed and going out with teenage friends was only possible when those friends were the kids from her community – where everyone knew each other and it was possible to report back to parents. In fact, none of Lisa’s friends were able to go on the trip. She said that she had to beg her parents and the only reason they agreed was because she had family in Montreal that she had to check in with by telephone every night from her hotel room.
Back at the cafe, Lisa sits down at the table where sitting in front of her to the left she claims was a young Ghislaine Maxwell and directly in front of her was Jeffrey Epstein with Frost & Tip hair highlights.
Lisa describes Ghislaine Maxwell as vivacious and worldly – it was obvious to Lisa that she came from a world that was very different than the sheltered one that she belonged to. For most of the encounter, Ghislaine and Jeffrey spoke about a party that was taking place in their hotel room that night. They asked Lisa to join them and Lisa remembers replying with a “maybe I’ll see” at which point, Jeffrey got up from the table as he had to go make a telephone call.
Alone now with Ghislaine, the entire discussion shifted towards sex and sexual pranks. Lisa recalls one of the pranks where Ghislaine describes being naked with her friends and answering the door for the pizza delivery man. It was obvious to Lisa that Ghislaine was sexually charged and uninhibited; a woman who liked to experiment.
As the conversation got weirder, Lisa was getting anxious and wanted to go back to her hotel. Ghislaine insisted that Lisa stay until Jeffrey came back.
